Privacy

Painted Perches is a small art project. We try to collect as little information from you as possible, and we don't share, sell, or reuse it for anything else.

What we ask for when you request a profile

• Your name — how you'd like to be credited. This goes on your birdhouse's public profile.
• Your email — so we can send you your profile link and your access code. This is not shown publicly.
• A community question answer — a quick anti-bot check, only ever seen by us.

Once your profile is set up, you can add more if you want — a few words about the artist, a few words about the birdhouse, a photo, a pin on the map. All of that is optional, edited by you with your access code, and only shown publicly if you decide to share it.

Your email — when we delete it

We keep your email for one reason: so we can help you recover your access code if you lose it. If that happens, send us the URL of your profile from the original welcome email and we'll email you a new code.

We'll delete all requester emails at the end of summer 2026. After that, profiles continue to exist — but your email will no longer be on our servers. If you lose your access code after that, reach out and we'll work with you to get you a new one through whatever info you still have.

What we don't do

• We don't sell your information.
• We don't share it with third parties for marketing.
• We don't use it for anything other than what's described above.
• We don't show the caretaker / host name publicly. The map shows the birdhouse, not the person.

Service providers

We use Vercel to host the site, Supabase to store data, Cloudflare Turnstile for bot checking, and Resend to send the welcome email. Each of them processes the minimum they need to do their job.
