Painted Perches is built entirely by volunteers. There are lots of ways to help — from an afternoon of postering to a season of painting events. You don't need to be an expert. You just need to show up.

Help spread the word the old-fashioned way — putting up posters around the neighbourhood, on community boards, and anywhere people gather.
We need posters, social assets, and print materials. If you have an eye for design, your work will be seen all over Chinatown.
Help run community painting sessions — set up supplies, welcome newcomers, and make sure everyone leaves with a birdhouse they're proud of.
Go door to door, talk to neighbours, and engage local businesses. Find would-be painters, hosts, and anyone who wants to be part of something good.
Once a birdhouse is painted, it needs a home. Help mount and install birdhouses at host locations around the neighbourhood.
Answer questions from the community, review birdhouse submissions, and help keep the project running smoothly online.
Capture moments — painting sessions, newly installed birdhouses, neighbourhood reactions — and share them with the world.
Help bring the project's voice together. Write copy, tell stories, and make sure the messaging is as warm and clear as the project itself.
It's a one-person show right now — it would be great to have someone tackle tickets and make pull requests. I'll coach you if you want to learn. The stack is Next.js, TypeScript, and Supabase.
Birdhouses are free. We'll set you up with everything you need — the house, paint, and a QR code to put it on the map.
