Painted Perches is a local, community-focused art project of hand-painted birdhouses. Each birdhouse is made and cared for by a neighbour. They each have their own (optional) page on the trail map. It's a neighbourhood project, a platform to bring people together and create a little more whimsy in our lives.
Painted Perches is a community-focused art project hatching along LeBreton St N in Ottawa's Chinatown. Hand-painted birdhouses (made by neighbours, kids, seniors, and local artists) are hung on fences, trees, and storefronts, turning the street into an open-air walking gallery. Each birdhouse has its own (optional) page on an online trail map, and anyone is invited to paint one, host one, or simply come find them. Started by Ottawa creator Jesse Burcsik, alongside a growing number of neighbours helping to bring more whimsy to the area together. Find the trail at paintedperches.ca.
